I think it would be a great idea if there were some more specific details of what the functions in the enrichments actually do.

For example, I created my app with a tick box in "maintain state" in the video enrichment and I had a poster frame displayed when the video ended.

As I was testing my app, I played the video (which was layered on/off via buttons) and when I moved to another page, then back to the page that contained the video, the poster frame was hanging in the air, so clearly the change of page does not reset the layer state.

It would be good to know things like this in advance, as on some things the "maintain state" tick box does not appear to do much.

I think it should be made fairly high priority to lock the zoom on android pages, it makes it impossible to add any kind of multi touch HTML enrichments within the page.

This needs to be sorted and quick!

Hi
Basically there are 2 ways to export in any html5 based format (it applies to ePub3 Fixed Layout too).
A/ using images : this means that we produce an image of all the static elements of the page and use it as a background for the page in the viewer. I take 2 examples :
  1. imagine a page of your document with text and images but no enrichments. In that case we create a single image of the page and that is what you get in the html5 viewer. Actually we produce a medium definition and a high definition image and load the higher quality image when you zoom.
  2. imagine a page with a slideshow. We will create an image as in 1. but without integrating the slideshow. The slideshow will be added in pure html5 on top of this background image. The more enrichments you have on the page, the more layers of extra html5 we add on top of the background.
B/ using text : this means that we will attempt to recreate the complete layout of the page in pure html5. This means in practice that we will determine the fonts being used, convert them for use in the html viewer, embed them in the export, etc... The styling of all elements of the text will be transcoded in html5 styling.

As you can imagine B/ is much more complexe than A/. Sometimes there is simply no way to fully reproduce a text style in html5, so the document can look a little bit different.

The big advantage of B/ over A/ is that text is rendered natively using html5. This means that when you zoom in the page, all will be crisp because text is rendered as vectors. B/ can also result in more lightweight output because there are less images...but if you use lots of fonts, the benefits of less images might be killed by more fonts to load.

I hope this helps

Matthieu

Hi there,
When I try to test my application from indesign project manager panel I got always this error.

"List device mykiosk error:
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 2147483648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2145386525 bytes) in /Applications/AVEDigitalPublishing/php/libs/DNS/DNSMessage.php on line 165"

I use the 3.5 authoring plug-in version on Indesign CC, iMac Core i5 with 16GB ram, OS 10.9.5.

I have tried to test on another computer with same configuration, but i got the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Lot of thx.
Marco
